FROM MONUMENTS TO MASTERPIECES: A FOUNDER'S VISION

My (Dr. Nelesh Agrawal) journey into the world of textiles began among the stones of our city. While pursuing my Ph.D. at the University of Lucknow, my research focused on the historic monuments of Lucknow, as I studied the intricate carvings and timeless architecture of our heritage sites, I found a striking parallel in another ancient legacy: Chikankari.

The same soul that breathes through the stone latticework of our monuments lives in the delicate needlework of our artisans.

Captivated by this parallel, I dedicated myself to mastering the nuances of this ancient craft. I saw a legacy that needed more than just admiration- it needed a sustainable, industrial future.

In 2021, I founded Lucknow Fashion Diary (LFD) to bridge the gap between heritage and the modern world. LFD is more than a label; it is a movement. We began with a singular vision: to take the whispered elegance of Chikankari embroidery from the narrow, historic lanes of Lucknow and echo its beauty across the global stage. 

OUR MISSION: BEYOND THE STITCH

In the shadows of the city's surroundings, thousands of women artisans possess a dexterity that is nothing short of magic. Historically, their craft was bound by the seasons- thriving in the summer heat and falling silent in the winter. 

LFD has change the narrative. We provide a year-round, sustainable livelihood for local women artisans, transforming "seasonal work" into lifelong careers.

At LFD, we don't just manufacture clothes; we curate the legacy of Lucknow, ensuring the artisan's hand is felt in every thread you wear.
